Johnny Murphy Expands His Musical Universe With Dual Projects: J. P. Murphy and Funksol Fuse

New Full-Band and Experimental Releases Rolling Out Monthly on All Major Streaming Platforms

San Antonio, TX — August 2025 — South Texas songwriter Johnny Murphy is officially rolling out a wave of new music under two distinct artist identities — J. P. Murphy and Funksol Fuse — each representing a different side of his creative journey.

Launched about a year ago, J. P. Murphy first introduced audiences to Murphy’s raw storytelling and acoustic-driven sound. Now, the project is entering a new chapter: full-band arrangements that expand the scope and energy of his songs while retaining the lyrical depth and Texas songwriter roots that define his voice. Two new singles are scheduled for release on September 5th and September 26th, 2025, marking a clear evolution from his debut acoustic work.

Meanwhile, Funksol Fuse — an older project that had been dormant for nearly four years — is now reborn. Originally started as a funk/psychedelic experiment, the project was paused while Murphy honed his recording skills, improved his singing, and refined his lyrical craft. Some of his newer material, which leaned away from the Americana/Texas country style, found a natural home under the Funksol Fuse banner. With distribution already established, the project has returned in full force, debuting its comeback single “Wake Me Up” on August 19th, followed by a new release arriving on August 29th, 2025.

“J. P. Murphy is me rooted in tradition, where I connect to Texas storytelling — but now with a bigger, more dynamic sound,” Murphy explains. “Funksol Fuse is where I stretch out, experiment, and follow the grooves. Both projects let me explore different sides of who I am as an artist.”
